Impossible!

If you’ve ever wondered what made our success possible, watch this video.

It takes you back to 2014, the true turning point at Forest Gate Community School. The moment we decided to change everything: our culture, our expectations, and how we defined great teaching.

This was where it all began, the foundation on which every other school in our trust has since been built. The same ingredients that made FGCS exceptional have driven improvement and excellence at scale, proof that lasting change is possible when belief, clarity, and consistency align.

The video is honest and full of heart, featuring both teacher and student voices reflecting on what really matters: How do we judge teacher performance? Not by numbers alone, but by purpose, effort, and the impact we have on young lives.

You’ll see some of the colleagues who helped make the impossible, possible, including our much-loved Shamimara Uddin, whose kindness, humour, and unwavering belief in every child shaped the very soul of this journey. She has since sadly passed away, but her legacy continues to live through every student and every success that followed.

The film ends with our first GCSE success — the spark that ignited a decade of sustained excellence and transformation across the trust.

A reminder that what once seemed impossible can, through belief, clarity, and collective will, become reality.
